RECREATION

The park is an ideal stop over for water sport enthusiasts.  Access to various kinds of water sports on lake like water-skiing and  wind surfing.  A 8m high speed water slide with a indoor heated- and outdoor swimming pool provides endless hours of fun and entertainment for guests. It is also an angler’s paradise with a wide variety of fish.  For the bird lovers there is much to be appreciated, with about 62 different species around.  A large community hall, equipped with 5 built-in spit roast braais and catering facilities, provides an ideal venue for caravan rallies, conferences, functions and seminars. A big-screen available for special events like important rugby-games, etc..  A general store on the premises provides everything needed, from basic necessities (fresh meat, basic groceries, everything needed for you braai as well as effective fishing bait) and nourishments (cooldrinks, ice, chips, ice cream, cigarettes and sweets).  Fully equipped luxury chalets and camping sites for caravans and tents, surrounded by paving,  luscious lawns and shady trees all over the entire area next to the dam.

NB. No motorbikes and 4-wheelers allowed on the premises, however all kinds of bicycles are most welcome.

LOCATION

Rietspruitdam Amigos Caravan Park is situated 13km from Ventersdorp on the banks of the Rietspruit Dam.  Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp are approximately 70km away.  Rietspruitdam  Amigos Caravan Park is near enough to Johannesburg and Pretoria for a quick weekend get-away, when you’ve just had enough of the city.

    Poor Customer Service. Squeezed in like sardines, and when we moved to stands further down (with permission from the admin people) we received an inspection visit from the owner telling us we need to move our stands, cars etc as he needs to cut the grass (which was short already). Best of all, despite being willing to pay for an additional stand and with open stands available we were forced to camp two families on the same stand. Left after 1 night. Good fishing, but please dont fall for their bs. Shame they have also converted competition grounda to make maximum profit from us fisherman.
